Who publishes the site
Splice Notes editorial team. The Splice Notes editorial team checks every LosslessCut default, shortcut and download file on this site against the tagged LosslessCut source and its official documentation. The team writes under the Splice Notes name rather than as named individuals, and the verification policy explains what "last verified" means on each page.
Independence from LosslessCut
Splice Notes is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Mikael Finstad or the LosslessCut project. LosslessCut is a separate program under the GPL-2.0 licence. Every download link on the site goes to the project's own GitHub releases or one of the store listings its README names. The one exception is the winget command, which installs ch.LosslessCut, a community repackage of the official Windows build maintained by Chris Huang; the site says so wherever it shows the command. No file is repackaged or hosted here. The site does not edit video; all trimming happens in the desktop app on your computer.
How facts are checked
The shortcuts, defaults, menu labels and output file names on this site were read from the LosslessCut source at tag v3.69.0 and its release notes on 2026-09-28; each value links to the file it came from. Cut-accuracy advice follows the project's own troubleshooting guide. File sizes and SHA-256 digests come straight from GitHub's release data, so they match the files the project publishes.
When pages are reviewed
Pages are reviewed each time LosslessCut publishes a new release. A daily job compares the source files the guides cite between the checked tag and the new one: when they are unchanged the checked version moves forward, and when they changed the pages are re-read by hand before they are updated. The date and version in the stamp above show the last review.
How the site is funded
The site carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links. The advertising disclosure will name any partner before one appears. Corrections are handled as described on the contact page.
